Morning Cuts
Problem: Only 1% of the black population donate blood. What can we do to increase this number?
Idea: The black community have some of the rarest blood types. We’re going to bring the blood banks into the community.
HOW
Black British barber shops form a cultural hubs of so many communities over several generations. It’s a safe place where the community gathering and share their experiences.
We will partner up with barber shops within the community. We’ll train nurses to become barbers so they can take blood and educate the community on importance of giving blood.
A mobile van will be located outside the shop while they wait to get their hair cut.

To drive education, we will advertise Morning Cuts on products and aprons within the barber shop. Asking the question - What blood type are you? We will offer a cheek swab service to see if anyone is a match to rare blood types around the country. We will ask people to register so they can continue to give blood in the future.
The content
We will ask several influencers with rare blood types to sit in the chair of famous Barbara, Daniel Johnsonbar, a celebrity barber.
Each week we will extend the conversation with interesting content on black males, stereotypes in the community. As well as share stories of those within the community who have been affected by losing someone due to having a rare blood type.
